The viewership boost for "Adults" Season 2 is a notable win for FX, especially considering the crowded streaming landscape. A 40% increase in viewership from Season 1 suggests that the show is gaining momentum and resonating with audiences. This growth is likely due in part to the show's relatable themes and humor, which have struck a chord with viewers.
The fact that Disney is reporting viewership metrics across multiple platforms, including Hulu and Disney+, also speaks to the company's strategy of promoting its content across its various streaming services. By doing so, Disney is able to showcase the reach and popularity of its shows, which can be a major selling point for attracting new viewers and advertisers. As the streaming wars continue to heat up, being able to demonstrate a show's broad appeal will be crucial for networks like FX.
What's next to watch is how FX will build on this momentum with future seasons of "Adults" and other shows. Will the network be able to continue to attract new viewers and grow its audience, or will the growth be a one-season anomaly? Additionally, it's worth keeping an eye on how Disney's streaming services will continue to evolve and prioritize content, especially as the company looks to compete with other major streaming players like Netflix and HBO Max.
